Terms of Service
Effective 2026-10-28
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the online English-test preparation service (the “Service”) provided by Algoscoring (알고스코어링), a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea and represented by Sunghyuk Song (the “Company”), and the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Company and its members.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- “Member” means a person who agrees to these Terms, creates an account and uses the Service.
- “Content” means the mock tests, practice items, passages, audio, images, explanations and vocabulary materials the Company provides.
- “Paid Service” means the membership and credits a Member pays for.
- “Credit” means the unit consumed when a Member requests Algo Precision AI scoring.
Article 3 (Posting and amending the Terms)
- The Company posts these Terms in the Service so that Members can read them at any time.
- The Company may amend the Terms within the limits of applicable law. The effective date and the reasons are announced in the Service at least 7 days before they take effect. Changes that are unfavourable to Members or otherwise material are announced at least 30 days in advance and also sent to Members by email.
- A Member who does not agree to amended Terms may terminate the agreement. A Member using a Paid Service is refunded under the Refund Policy.
Article 4 (Sign-up and formation of the agreement)
- The agreement is formed when a person agrees to these Terms and to the notice on personal-data processing and completes sign-up by email verification or social login.
- Persons under 14 may not sign up.
- The Company may refuse sign-up, or terminate the agreement afterwards, where another person’s information was used or where the person was previously restricted for breaching these Terms.
Article 5 (What the Service provides)
- The Company provides mock tests, practice by question type, vocabulary study, automated scoring with feedback, and a study history.
- What is free and what belongs to the Paid Service is shown in the Service.
- TOEFL® is a registered trademark of Educational Testing Service (ETS). The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed or approved by ETS, and all items were created independently by the Company.
Article 6 (Notice on AI-based features)
- Scoring and feedback are produced by automated systems without human involvement, and part of them by generative AI. Scoring and feedback produced by generative AI are labelled as such on screen.
- Scores and estimated bands are estimates meant to support study. They do not guarantee any result on the actual test.
- A Member may ask for an explanation of a score or object to it. The Company answers requests received through satapmed@gmail.com or the contact page in good faith.
Article 7 (Paid Service and payment)
- The price, term, what is included, the payment method and the payment date of a Paid Service are shown on the payment screen. The Paid Service agreement is formed when the Member confirms them and completes payment.
- A subscription membership renews automatically on the same conditions at each billing cycle until the Member cancels. Before each charge the Company makes clear that the membership renews automatically, the amount, the next billing date and how to cancel.
- To raise the subscription price, or to convert free use into a paid subscription, the Company obtains the Member’s consent within the 30 days before the change. A Member who does not consent is not charged the higher amount and may cancel the subscription.
- Credits included in the membership are granted in a fixed number at the start of each billing cycle; unused credits do not carry over to the next month and expire when the cycle ends. Credits cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash, except for refunds under the Refund Policy.
- Members may buy precision-scoring credits separately (extra credits). Extra credits can be used until the end of the billing cycle in which they were bought; they do not roll over to the next cycle and expire then. The credits granted for each billing cycle are used first.
- Payments are processed by Toss Payments Co., Ltd., a payment processor in the Republic of Korea. Card numbers are entered on the processor’s screen and are never received by the Company.
Article 8 (Cancellation)
- A Member may cancel a Paid Service at any time, choosing either to stop the next charge or to cancel during the current term and be refunded for the unused part.
- Cancellation and account deletion are requested under My account or through satapmed@gmail.com or the contact page.
- On account deletion the account and study records are deleted under the Privacy Policy and cannot be restored.
Article 9 (Withdrawal and refunds)
Withdrawal, refunds on early cancellation and refund deadlines are set out in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Where the Refund Policy is less favourable to a Member than the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce or other applicable law, the law prevails.
Article 10 (Payments by minors)
A Member under 19 needs the consent of a legal guardian to buy a Paid Service. If payment was made without that consent, the Member or the guardian may cancel the agreement.
Article 11 (Intellectual property and permitted use)
- Copyright and other intellectual-property rights in the Content and the Service belong to the Company. Members may use them only for their own personal study.
- Members may not copy, distribute, transmit or sell the Content, or collect it by automated means, without the Company’s prior consent.
Article 12 (Members’ answers and posts)
- Rights in the answers a Member writes or speaks belong to the Member.
- The Company uses answers only as needed to score them and give feedback, to show the study history and to check for misuse. Any other use requires the Member’s prior consent.
- Rights in and responsibility for posts and comments a Member publishes on the board (“Posts”) belong to that Member. The Company uses Posts only as needed to display them within the Service. The board can be read by people who are not Members, and Posts are shown with the nickname the Member chose.
- The Company may hide or delete a Post without prior notice if it infringes another person’s reputation, privacy, copyright or other rights; contains unlawful information, obscene material or discriminatory or hateful expression; is advertising, flooding or promotion unrelated to the Service; or leaks items or answers or otherwise breaches Article 13.
- A person whose rights are infringed by a Post may request its removal through satapmed@gmail.com or the contact page. The Company removes it or temporarily hides it without delay in accordance with applicable law. The Member concerned may object by the same route.
- When a Member deletes the account, that Member’s Posts are deleted.
Article 13 (Members’ obligations)
Members must not:
- share or transfer an account to another person;
- leak or publish items, answers, explanations or audio outside the Service;
- submit in bulk by automated means or use the scoring system in an abnormal way;
- interfere with the operation of the Service or try to circumvent its security measures;
- infringe the rights of others or break the law.
Article 14 (Restrictions on use)
- If a Member breaches Article 13, the Company may warn the Member, restrict some features or terminate the agreement, depending on the nature and seriousness of the breach. The Company gives the reasons and an opportunity to respond before acting, except where the Service must be protected urgently, in which case it acts first and informs the Member promptly.
- Even where the Company terminates the agreement, the unused part of what the Member paid is refunded under the Refund Policy. The Company may separately claim damages it suffered from the breach.
Article 15 (Changes to and suspension of the Service)
- The Company may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, equipment failure, natural disaster or other unavoidable reasons, and gives advance notice where it can.
- If the Company becomes unable to continue a Paid Service for reasons on its side, it informs Members in advance and refunds the amount corresponding to the period they can no longer use.
Article 16 (Liability)
- The Company compensates Members for damage caused by the Company’s intent or negligence.
- The Company is not liable where it could not provide the Service because of force majeure such as natural disaster, or for damage caused by the Member’s own intent or negligence.
- The Company does not guarantee that using the Service will produce any particular test score.
Article 17 (Protection of personal data)
The Company processes Members’ personal data under the Privacy Policy.
Article 18 (Disputes, governing law and language)
- A Member may raise a complaint or seek redress through satapmed@gmail.com or the contact page, and the Company handles it as a priority.
- Disputes between the Company and a Member may be referred to mediation bodies such as the Korea Consumer Agency, the Electronic Commerce Mediation Committee or the Content Dispute Resolution Committee.
- These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea, and the courts with jurisdiction are determined by the Korean Civil Procedure Act. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live.
- These Terms are written in Korean and English. Where the two versions differ, the Korean version governs.
